You're right, it's #2, definitely. You can tell by what she says that she feels Walter does not appreciate the struggles she has made for him or the struggles that african americans, as a people, have gone through to even be able to think about something like money. She feels estranged to Walter by what he says because she knows what it was like to be oppressed and have no freedom but Walter doesn't and he doesn't think that her feelings are relevant to the times anymore.
