How to make friends my age outside of school?

ok so i have a group of friends that i hang out with from my school and stuff and i hang with them on the weekends too but sometimes i call them to hang out and theyll be hanging out with someone else (usually who i dont know from their church, basketball team, etc....) and i dont really have any friends i can be with outside of school and i was wondering how i can meet people my age that dont go to my school. i dont really have much money to join a sport or something and i dont really do anything that would allow me to meet other people. does anyone have any ideas? thanks
