Inscrutiating tonsislitis pain with huge white spots and huge red cuts. Can't swallow at all?

It started with a sore throat then it turned into fever which was an on and off thing but when i went to the doctor she seemed appauled at how huge and cut of my tonsils appeared... she gave me antibiotics and some liquid that u gargle to num the pain... it didn't work.. now, whenever i swallow it's like the most inscruating pain i've ever had in my life!!! when i look inside my throat i see white spots, huge red cuts, huge, huge red cuts in circular and line form and i'm scared.. how long will it take for the antibiotics to kick in, how long will it take for me to stop suffering? are there any home remedies I can do? i tried warm lemonade but it just made it A HELL of alot worse!! what should i do? I really am suffering! :-(
